When you make a contribution to Caleb’s Dragonfly Dreams your donations go directly to do activities with the youth in the group homes. Funding for these activities are often not available to residential facilities, so we try to bridge the gap and make certain that these children have the opportunity to just be a kid.
Christmas presents, movie nights, carving pumpkins, water park adventures, laser tag, tie dye shirt making, pizza parties, birthday balloons and cakes. There are too many activities to list but these are just a few of the things we do and share with the group homes. These children a very appreciative of everything we do with them whether it is something big or small. I gave a balloon to a little girl for her birthday and she didn’t realize that I had a present behind my back, so started crying saying she never had a balloon before and just kept thanking me for it. Can you imagine her surprise when she also got a gift?
In kind donations help us out tremendously. Donations of paper plates or any food items, t-shirts for the tie-dying, baking of cakes for birthdays, DVDs, video games consoles, sheets for twin beds, laundry detergent, if you own a restaurant the kids love a night out on the town! If you’re a college student and need community hours we also need interns for office work and other small details with the charity. You will get to learn the ins and outs of running a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
We strictly work on a volunteer bases, no one gets paid a salary.
